War on journalism - tales from reporters in Belarus, Russia and Poland.

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The protests in Belarus continue. At the same time, hundreds of people have been arrested - and Russia is gradually increasing its influence over the media.
Belarusian freelance journalist Hanna Liubakova participates directly from a Minsk that has become the center of the world's attention.
She talks to two colleagues who share the experience of working in a country where, as an independent journalist, you constantly have to deal with risks.
In Russia, strict media laws severely restrict reporting on everything from LGBTQ to suicide and terrorism. How do you report on what you are not allowed to talk about?
Murmansk-based journalist Anna Kireeva has, by interviewing 28 Russian colleagues, gained a unique insight into their tricks for rounding up the media laws.
The panel also includes Wojciech Cieśla, an investigative journalist in Poland - an EU country that in recent years has distinguished itself for the government's attempts to suppress free journalism. What is it like to be an investigative journalist in Poland now?

Chaired by: Erik Halkjaer, president Reporters without Borders, Sweden
